Enterprise Competitions & Awards
Propeller supports several pre- and post- start-up competitions and awards, as well as running our own. Our mentors are on hand to help you with your application and provide pitch practice. Some of the awards and competitions with which we can help are below.
The Propeller Enterprise Award
Propeller offer our own award for innovative start-ups, whether that be a business project or voluntary group. We award entrepreneurs that display sound business strategy with up to £1,000 to realise their business ideas. What’s more, you don’t compete against other people, as funding is allocated on the value of your idea alone.
The Propeller Enterprise Award is closed at present. Whilst you wait for it to re-open you can Check your eligibility.
University Entrepreneur’s Grant – Educate North Awards
The Educate North Awards celebrate best practice and excellence in the education sector across the North of England. As part of that, The University Entrepreneur’s Grant is a bit of a special category, as a winner is not decided until the day of the ceremony. Each shortlisted applicant presents a 3-minute pitch, which the audience then votes on.
The winner receives a £1,000 cash prize to develop their business plan, as well as access to a mentor, and you will also receive a helpful publicity boost including a professional promotional film to aid future business relations.
Dave Clayton, the 2019 winner, is receiving support from Propeller for his venture ‘Wot Wud U Do?’ – Find out more about his pitch.
