Current psychology student Sophie Helbig has a portfolio career, undertaking a wide variety of work including voice acting and screenwriting. We’ve asked her to tell us her story, with a focus on her voice acting work, which even includes well known work such as the Walking Dead (German dub).

In this session she will share with you how she managed to break into a very challenging industry, ended up making a living from it and how she manages to do so many things at the same time. But don’t worry, she won’t just bore you with her life story. Being a freelancer is challenging and she’s learnt some essential skills on her journey that she’d like to share with you, hoping that you take something useful away from the time spent together.

What are student-led specials?

This term we want to offer Propeller members the chance to deliver their own workshops focusing on their experience and insight into their area of expertise. Not only does this give our business owners a chance to reflect on their own journey, but can also act as inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs.

If you want to have a go delivering your own workshop, email teampropeller@uclan.ac.uk with your interest. Propeller members who have been trading for at least a year (and making a profit) should feel free to get in touch.

Booking closes at 5pm on the Sunday before the workshop.
