Times, they are a-changing – as are customer demands.

With ecological and social choices becoming increasingly more cost-effective, customers are demanding more from the brands they buy. Big brands have adopted social practices through the likes of Fairtrade product sourcing and community outreach, in line with growing demand for corporate responsibility. And you know what? It works.

Companies such as Ben & Jerry’s, Yeo Valley and Richer Sounds are being celebrated for the way they treat employees, source their materials and help the environment. Ethics are in, and these companies are reaping the benefits of benefiting everyone else.

On the other hand, numerous scandals over the years have proven financial loss comes with unethical practices such as deception and misinformation. The horse meat scandal cost Tesco £300m and L’Oreal’s attempts to cover up an unethical supply chain has led to a string of boycotts.

In this workshop, we’ll look at how to ensure an ethical approach across all aspects of business: from consumer concerns, staffing, supply chain, paying taxes and composing an ethical policy for your company.

  • Core values and branding
  • Employer practices
  • Analyse your supply chain
  • Environmental considerations
  • Grants for going green
  • Creating an ethical policy

Appealing to ethical consumers isn’t just a trend – it’s about respect for others and the world we live in. Come along to find out what you can do to make a difference.

We’ve launched the Propeller TEST BED to try new ideas, see what works and what you want us to offer.  Once a month we are giving our mentors a chance to try out new workshop material and see if it’ll ‘fly or die’.

If something sparks your interest, come along and help us perfect the material. You could be the difference in us finding out whether our ideas will take flight!

Got an idea for something you’d like to see in a future TEST BED. Let us know!

Come back soon to see what the next TEST BED will be!
