THE NEXT STEP TO GROW YOUR BUSINESS
Workshops & Masterclass
We have different types of workshops to meet your business needs. Our Propeller Enterprise Programme gives the fundamental skills needed to start a business, and the Bite-sized Briefings are good for top-ups on specialist subjects such as social media for business, business planning, leadership, value creation and sustainability.
Mentoring and 1-1 business advice are core elements of the support programme covering a wide spectrum of needs and stages of business development. Our experienced professionals offer insights to encourage you to think through issues relating to your business or community enterprise in a logical and rigorous way.
Finding and creating opportunities to meet with other business owners, potential suppliers and new customers is vital for all businesses, and the Propeller monthly networking event is a great opportunity to do this regularly. We invite guest speakers to talk about different topics each month, so check out the event’s page to see what is coming up!
Propeller Enterprise Award
We offer our own start-up funding through the Propeller Enterprise Award. Once or twice a year, we will give promising entrepreneurs up to £1,000 to develop their business idea. Many entrants are new businesses who need initial funding in buy equipment to trial the business, purchase marketing materials or conduct product testing.
Each application is considered on its own merit, not in competition against others.
The Propeller Hub
Rather than working at home, you may prefer to use the Propeller Hub. With fewer distractions, printing facilities, meeting space and a UCLan trading address for £0.68 equivalent a day, the communal work space can help you build relationships and good practices.
The Hub is free for current students and recent graduates (6 months after graduation).
If you already work with Propeller, there is a high likelihood that you are eligible for support with other UCLan Business projects too. Talk to your mentor to find out what will be most helpful to you, or visit the UCLan Business page to see upcoming events.
The Propeller Hub is usually open to students, alumni and commercial businesses.
Students currently get free hot-desks, but should only use them for enterprise activity. For a charge, hot desks and rental desks are available to businesses and pre-startups.
The Propeller Hub is currently closed due to COVID-19. We will be instigating social distancing measures when we return.
We act as a single point of access to a range of business support, specialist facilities and networks at UCLan. Contact us today if you would like further info on email@example.com
