Propeller have some amazing clients and we’re proud to support the work that they do. Here’s just one of them!

JL Consultancy – Julie Lightfoot

A passion for self-development.

Background

In 2014 Julie made the decision to walk away from a career as a civil servant and begin a new chapter in life. As a newly authorised YB12 (Your Best 12 months) Coach with a passion for self-development, Julie began to explore the options of taking her skillset public whilst working for herself. Thus, JL Consultancy was born.

JL Consultancy is a Preston based coaching and training service for those with a like-minded passion for self-development. Using techniques learned from countless training programmes, hours of reading and research, and experience of working with people JL Consultancy brings you a fresh perspective to life and business.

How Propeller Helps

Julie is one of our longest-standing clients within the Propeller Hub, since 2015 (before Northern Lights even became Propeller!) During that time Julie has hot-desked and used the social space for meetings. As Julie conducts meetings over Skype, she has also found that the boardroom can offer more privacy.

“I like the fact that there is a low-cost facility in my locality that provides me with a work-space and the facility to meet other business owners in a pleasant setting. The support there helps me grow my business, also.”

Julie has been a great source of advice and guidance for other business owners in the Hub and has recently taken on student placements from Preston’s College, offering an insight into business ownership as well as practical work experience relevant to their course.

Recent Projects

Alongside the YB12 Personal Development programmes, JL Consultancy has now started offering life coaching, having received training in this field. In addition, having upgraded their YB12 status to that of a Corporate Coach, they can now offer their services to businesses.

The range of services offered has recently grown considerably. They now offer personal development, life coaching, mental health awareness training programmes, as well as hosting regular meetups events.

JL Consultancy is looking to expand their Health and Wellbeing and personal development client bases with the launch of their new website and have taken on additional help to do so. David Carthy now works on the business as a part-time Business Development Manager and they have been collaborating with students from Preston’s College to make new marketing content including video and social media collateral.

What’s Next?

Julie herself is focusing on making JL Consultancy more widely available, increasing the amount of delivery of services and making them more accessible via Skype and other digital platforms.

They have started working on an exciting new project for a Health and Wellbeing programme run by the sister-company of YB12 called Sum Sanos™. The programme focuses on habit-based intervention for weight management. Alongside the 1-1 coaching, the programme offers information via recorded webinars, podcasts, membership in a supportive community group, access to an app that helps you to think differently and a 12-month personal study guide. A recent development is the introduction of a shorter Fast-Start Sum Sanos programme™ which is run over 12 weeks.
